I can’t help but roll my eyes at the surge and intensity of the Avengers fandom. I know it’s because of the movie and all, but…come on.

The X-Men > The Avengers

One of the first multi-racial super hero groups, tackling real world issues about prejudice, racism, discrimination and tolerance. They have orphans, blended families and soon gay marriage. They’ve addressed global poverty and even the spread of major diseases similar to AIDS today (technovirus). Not only do they save the world, but they work towards educating, peacemaking and spreading acceptance. The Avengers have a bunch of spoiled rich kids with expensive gadgets.
